Patient Story Dante Jones
A year and a half after his accident, Dante Jones is still recovering. On Nov. 7, 2016, he was hit by an SUV while riding his bike to the gym. Dante, who was 19 years old at the time, was lucky to survive the accident; however, it left him with many issues including broken ribs, a punctured lung, a deep cut on his back and a traumatic brain injury. After spending one week recovering in the acute care hospital, he was transferred to the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson. One month after his accident, he impressed everyone by walking out of the inpatient rehabilitation hospital, where he underwent physical and mental exercises to help him recover. “They’re super persistent. They want the best for you. They really care,” he said of his rehabilitation care team.
