HealthSouth Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson Awarded Rehabilitation Certifications from the Joint Commission
TUCSON, Ariz. – HealthSouth Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson has earned certification for Disease-Specific Care in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation and Parkinson’s disease rehabilitation. The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ was awarded to the hospital for its compliance with the organization’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety in disease-specific care.
“Our focus is to serve the needs of the Tucson community,” said Jeff Christensen, CEO of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson. “Each day, our staff works to provide a differentiated level of care and offer services that get patients back on their feet and functioning in their communities. We are thrilled to offer these specialized services and receive this endorsement from The Joint Commission.”
To earn the certification, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson recently underwent a rigorous on-site survey. A surveyor with expertise in the care of patients with issues of traumatic brain injury, stroke and Parkinson’s disease from The Joint Commission evaluated the hospital’s programs for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including the provision and quality of care, medical staff, leadership and medication management.
